In this guide, you will get the easy steps on how to verify Cash App Card on Apple Pay.

You can actually add Cash App Card to Apple Pay from within Cash App itself without going through the message.

But when you add the Cash App Card on Apple Pay Wallet by going through the steps to add a debit card, you have to verify the card as a part of the standard process followed by Apple Pay.

When you tap on the button “Complete Verification”, you are given two options to verify the Cash App Card

  1. Open Cash App to complete the verification
  2. By calling Cash App Support team on their registered number as displayed

The easier and faster way is to use Option 1 by completing verification using Cash App on your mobile. That way you don’t need to call and go through all the IVR options.

So how do you verify Cash App Card on Apple Pay? When prompted to complete verification on Apple Pay, open the Cash App, go to the card tab from the home screen, next tap on the image of Cash App Card to open the menu and select “Add to Apple Pay” from the list.

Let’s look at the step-by-step details to do this, along with ways to troubleshoot any issues that crop up.

How to Verify Cash App Card on Apple Pay

  1. After adding Cash App Card in Apple Pay, tap on “Verification required->Complete Verification->select “Cash App” option (avoid using the option of dialing number which is longer)
  2. Tap on “Next” to open Cash App or directly open Cash App on your mobile
  3. Tap on card icon from the Cash App Home Screen
  4. Next tap on the image of the Cash App Card which will open up a menu

  6. On next screen, tap on “Next” to confirm adding Cash Card to Apple Pay if you accept the terms
  7. Confirm “Yes/No” as required when prompted to set Cash App Card as default card on Apple Pay
  8. You will get a message confirming “Your Cash App Card” has been added to Apple Pay

At the same time on Apple Pay, you will get the same message “Cash is ready on Apple Pay”

If even after completing the above steps, it still shows “verification required” on Apple Pay, then follow the steps below

  1. Remove the Cash App Card added in your Apple Pay wallet (simply tap on the card and select “Remove”)
  2. Now repeat the below steps using only your Cash App and not going through Apple Pay.
  3. Head over to Cash App, open the card section, tap on image of the card, select “Add to Apple Pay”

But you do need to complete the verification process before being able to use the Card. So do complete it using the steps above.

You can also transfer money from Apple Pay to Cash App and vice versa from Cash App to Apple Pay.

Wrap Up

Verifying your Cash App Card on Apple Pay is not needed if the card is added from within Cash App. But the process can get complicated if you added it using Apple Pay. However, as you would have seen in the steps above, you can complete the verification using the Cash App option and if it still does not work, try removing the Cash App card from Apple Pay and re-add from within Cash App.

Once verification is completed, you are good to go and use your Cash App Card with Apple Pay.

The answer is no, but there are a few workarounds to use Amazon with Apple Pay, which we will cover in this post.

Does Amazon Accept Apple Pay [Straight Answer]

No, Amazon does not accept Apple Pay yet. You cannot use Apple Pay directly on Amazon. But you can use your Apple Card to make the payments conveniently at Amazon.

Here, we are talking about the Apple Credit Card (Called Apple Card). Not the Apple Cash Card, which is linked to your Apple Pay balance.

Are you confused? Let’s make the difference simple for you:

Apple Pay

  • Wallet on your iPhone
  • Can hold credit card or debit card to make payments

Apple Cash

  • Prepaid debit card linked to Apple Pay balance (Black colored)
  • Completely Digital card, sits inside Apple Wallet
  • Runs on Discover Network and issued by Green Dot Bank

Apple Card

  • Apple Branded Credit Card (White Colored)
  • Digital as well as Physical Card
  • Runs on MasterCard Network and issued by Goldman Sachs

So if you have applied for and received the white colored Apple Credit Card, you can use this card to add as a payment method in Amazon. I

Workarounds to use Apple Pay at Amazon

There is no direct way to use Apple Pay at Amazon, as Amazon does not support Apple Pay as a payment method.

As a workaround, you can use the following ways to use Apple Pay with Amazon:

  • Add your Apple Credit Card as a payment method inside Amazon
  • Buy an Amazon Gift Card at a Retail Store using Apple Pay and use it at Amazon

Use your Apple Card to make payment on Amazon

You can use your Apple Card at any place where Master Card is accepted and so you can use it for your Amazon Purchases. The Apple Card can be used even independently of Apple Pay wallet.

All you need to do is add your Apple Card in Amazon Pay as a payment method, using the details of card number, expiration date etc. You can find these Apple Card details inside Apple Pay wallet by following this short videos on Apple website.

The good thing here with Apple Card is that it is integrated with Apple Wallet. So any purchase you do with your Apple Card is reflected in your Apple Pay Wallet so that you can keep track of your Amazon Purchases this way.

So any purchases you make on Amazon are visible to you inside Apple Wallet to keep track of.

You also get 1% cash back for such purchases, if you pay with Apple Card, which will be made available in your Apple Cash Card.

Buy an Amazon Gift Card at a Retail Store using Apple Pay and use it at Amazon

Another hack which you can use is buy a Amazon gift card at retail stores like Target, Walgreens etc. And then add the gift card to Amazon to make a purchase. This way you are indirectly using Apple Pay to fund your Amazon Purchase by buying a gift card of the required value.

Although this method may not be convenient for many, one advantage here is that you may be able to get 3% cash back if you buy the gift card using Apple Pay at stores like Walgreens etc.

If you don’t want to jump over so many hoops. it is best to go for an alternate card like Amazon Prime Rewards Visa Card which gives you 5% cash back on your Amazon shopping.

Apply for Apple Card on your iPhone

  1. Open the Wallet app on your iPhone
  2. Tap on the add button  on top right
  3. Select Apple Card, then tap Continue.

  5. Check and agree to the Apple Card Terms & Conditions, if acceptable
  6. Accept your offered credit limit and APR.

Wrap Up

It is not clear if Amazon will accept Apple Pay as a direct payment method in future. The payments space is very competitive with big players. This comes with its pros and cons for all consumers. While you get offers and variety of payment methods to choose from, compatibility becomes difficult especially when the players are size of Amazon and Apple.

One recent update has been that Amazon has announced that will be enabling Venmo wallet as a direct payment method in Amazon. And here again, you would know that Venmo does not accept Apple Pay as they are in a way competitors. So it seems Amazon and Apple Pay are on opposite sides for now.

How to Transfer Money from Apple Pay to Cash App | Complete Guide

How to Transfer Money from Apple Pay to Cash App

Cash App is a popular payments app from Block Inc. (previously called Square Inc.) that makes it super convenient to make payments and invest money. And what makes Cash App even better is that you can use it easily with your Apple Pay wallet. In this exhaustive guide, we will cover all the details and steps on how to transfer money from Apple Pay to Cash App and vice versa, including ways on how to transfer money to Cash App instantly from Apple Pay or even transfer money without Cash Card.

If you have a new Cash App account, one thing that you should do to use Cash App with Apple Pay is to get the Cash App Card (called Cash Card), if you haven’t already applied. The Cash App Card offers a ton of benefits as it can easily be used for your daily purchases (at any place where Visa is accepted).

And you don’t even need to carry a physical Cash card. You can just link the Cash Card in your Apple Pay and pay using your iPhone. In fact, as soon as you order a Cash App Card on Cash App, it gives you access to a virtual Cash Card inside the app, which you can add to Apple Pay (even when the physical card has not been delivered to you)

Also, once you get the Cash App Card and have activated it, this enables the Direct Deposit option in Cash App, which in turn gives you access to the Account and Routing Numbers of your Cash App account. This is another method we can use to link a Cash App account with Apple Pay as a bank account.

So let’s circle back to our main question :

How to Transfer Money from Apple Pay to Cash App? You can transfer money from Apple Pay to Cash App by first linking your Cash App account or Cash Card in Apple Pay, next go to Apple Pay and transfer the money using either transfer to the linked bank (1-3 business days) or transfer to debit card option (Instant Transfer) inside of Apple Wallet.

So there are actually two ways to transfer money from Apple Pay to Cash App

  • Link your Cash Card (as a debit card) in Apple Pay and then do a transfer from Apple Pay to Cash card, where you can do instant transfer (will take about 30 minutes, but will be chargeable @1.5% fees on transfer amount-minimum fee -$0.25 and maximum fee-$15)
  • Link your Cash App account (as a bank account) in Apple Pay using your Cash App routing number and account number. Then do a standard transfer from Apple Pay to your Cash App account, which takes 1-3 business days to get the credit, but is completely free.

Now, let’s go through the complete step-by-step process with all the intricacies involved.

How to Transfer Money from Apple Pay to Cash App [Using Card Option]

  1. Link your Cash App Card to Apple Pay (using either Cash App or Apple Pay)
  2. Open the Wallet app, Select your Apple Cash card, and then tap the more button the more button
  3. On next screen, tap “Transfer to Bank”
  4. Enter the amount you want to transfer to Cash App and then tap “Next”
  5. Tap “Instant Transfer”
  6. On next screen, select your “Cash App card” in the “To” field.
  7. Initiate the transfer with your touch id or pass code (as the case maybe)

Step 1- Link your Cash App Card to Apple Pay Wallet

The first step is to link your Cash App Card to your Apple Pay wallet. You can do this on the Cash App itself or by going to Apple Pay.

I would recommend doing it with the Cash App -refer to Option 1 below, which is quite easy and convenient.

Option 1- Adding your Cash Card to Apple Pay (using Cash App):

  1. Open Cash App in your mobile and log in
  2. Next, tap on the Cash Card tab (Card icon) on bottom menu of your Cash App home screen
  3. Next, tap on your Cash Card image and it will open a small pop-up menu.
  4. Select “Add to Apple Pay” from the list
  5. Follow the steps- click on next and accept terms and conditions, if you agree

In the end, it will remind you that the PIN for Cash Card is the same you have set.

You will also get a notification from Apple Pay, confirming that “Cash” is ready with Apple Pay i.e. your Cash Card is added to Apple Wallet and ready for your use. Alternatively, you can open the Apple Pay wallet and check that the green “Cash Card” is now showing in the app.

Option 2- Adding your Cash Card to Apple Pay (using Apple Pay wallet):

You can also open the Cash App to verify that your Cash Card has been added

Now, open the Apple Pay Wallet on your iPhone. It will show you the list of cards you have in the wallet including the Cash App Card on the home screen.

But you need to select the “Apple Cash Card”(Black card with the apple logo on it) since you want to move money from Apple Pay.

On the next screen, click on the circular 3 dots icon, on the top right (stands for More)

Step 3-On next screen, tap “Transfer to Bank”

On the next screen, your Apple Pay card balance is displayed and you get the option to “Add Money” or “Transfer to Bank” (right arrow icon) below it. Tap on “Transfer to Bank” (which also works for transfer to a debit card)

Step 4- Enter the amount you want to transfer

Now, type in the amount you want to transfer from Apple Pay to Cash App. Do note that the Instant Transfer fees will be deducted from such entered transfer amount and only the net amount will be actually transferred.

On entering the amount, it will show you the new “Apple Pay balance” which will be remaining after the transfer. If all is ok, go ahead and click on “Next” on the top right.

Step 5- Select “Instant Transfer” on the next screen

Now, you will get 2 options-Standard Transfer or Instant Transfer.

When moving money to Cash App Card, the option will be “Instant Transfer” which will be subject to 1.5% fees of the amount you want to transfer (subject to Minimum 0.25$ and Max15$).

These fees will be auto-deducted from the amount you chose to transfer. So if you have selected $10 for the transfer, it will deduct $0.25 fees and $9.75 will be transferred to Cash App. This will be anyways shown in the next step.

So select “Instant Transfer” and tap on “Transfer” on the top right to move to the next step.

Step 6- Select “Cash App Card” in “To” field and review the transfer details

On the next screen, it will show details of transfer:

  • Showing “Apple Pay” in the “From” field,
  • Showing “Card” in which the transfer is to be made in the To field. Make sure this shows your Cash Card. If it is showing another card, just tap on the right arrow and select “Cash Card” from the list
  • Transfer amount with break-up of fees and amount to be transferred

Step 7- Confirm the transfer with your touch id, face id or pass code

Once you have verified all the details including the Card in To Field, Transfer Amount, and fees, in step 6 above, you can go ahead and confirm the transfer using your touch id, face id, or passcode, that you have configured in Apple Pay.

Once this is done, the transfer takes around 30 minutes to complete (can also happen instantly). The transfer will show up as completed under your Apple Pay Card transactions. You will also be able to see the credit in your Cash App activity tab

Step 2- On next screen, scroll down and tap on “Bank Account”

You will be displayed the balance on your Apple Pay account.

Scroll down until you see the “Bank Account” option and tap on it

Step 3- Next tap on “Add Bank Account”

Apple Pay allows you to link only one bank account at a time.

So if you already have an existing bank account linked to Apple Pay, it will not show the “Add Bank” option. You need to delete this existing bank account first and then get the option to “Add Bank Account”.

Once you add your Cash Account and complete the transfer, you can always delete it and add your other normal bank account again.

Note: If you find this tedious and don’t want to delete your bank account, you can use option 1- linking with your Cash App Card as Apple Pay allows you to link up to 8 cards at a time. Though you have to pay instant transfer fees for transfer to a card, the transfer is faster.

Step 4- Next, enter the routing number and account number associated with your Cash App Account

In this step, you need to add the routing number and account number of your Cash App Account.

To get these details, open your Cash App on mobile, next just tap on the $ bank icon on the home screen bottom menu and you will be displayed both your routing number and account number. You also get an option to copy these details.

Use this option to input the respective details in Apple Pay. Now, tap on next on the top right. Again, you will be asked to enter this information to confirm the details, so that there are no errors.

Once this is done, Apple Pay will display the name of the bank associated with your Cash App on the next screen which will be either “Lincoln Bank” or “Sutton Bank”. You don’t need to worry about this, since both these banks are compatible with Apple Pay and the information is fetched automatically based on the routing number and account number.

Now just tap on the back (top left)

Step 5- On next screen, tap on “Transfer to Bank”

Now, you can tap on the “Transfer to Bank” option to trigger the transfer process from Apple Pay to Cash App Account.

Step 6- Enter the amount you want to transfer to Cash App and then tap on “Next”

Now, enter the amount you want to transfer.

Step 7- Next, tap on “Standard Transfer”

On the next screen, select the “Standard Transfer” option which is the option to transfer money to bank accounts. There are no transfer fees involved here, but it does take 1-3 business days to complete the transfer

Step 8- On next screen, make sure if shows your “Cash App Account” in the “To” field.

On the next screen, you will be shown the transfer details which will show the following information”

  1. Your “Apple Cash” Account in the From Field
  2. Your target Cash App “Bank Account” Name -(Lincoln or Sutton Bank) in the To field.
  3. Transfer Amount

Step 9-Initiate the transfer with your touch id or pass code (as the case maybe)

If all the details look correct, go ahead and complete the transfer using your touch id, face id, or passcode. Once done, you should be able to see transactions under the “Transactions” tab on Apple Pay.

It will take 1-3 business days for the amount to be actually credited to your Cash App account.

How to use Apple Pay at Gas Station [Complete Guide]

How to Use Apple Pay at Gas Station

If you are looking to know how to use Apple Pay at Gas Stations, this guide will walk you through the steps and provide some helpful information on what gas stations support Apple Pay.

You don’t want to spend a lot of time at a gas station. And Apple Pay does help you achieve that by speeding up the process to pay for the gas. It not only saves time, but is also quite convenient, once you get the hang of it.

First things first, Apple Pay is accepted at all major gas stations that include Shell, Costco, Chevron, Exxon, Wawa, Arco, etc.

Apple Pay works using NFC technology. So all gas stations accepting Apple Pay will have the “Tap to Pay” symbols displayed on the gas pumps (Apple Pay logo or the NFC Wi-Fi symbol)

However, you may run into gas pumps that do not provide the Apple Pay option. This is more to do with the local pump owner than the company.

To pay with Apple Pay at the gas station, hold your iPhone near the NFC reader at the pump (Wi-Fi/NFC symbol) that will launch the Apple Wallet automatically, authenticate yourself using touch id or face id, and follow the on-screen instructions to complete the payment.

An alternative way you can explore that works for some gas stations that have their own app – Download the respective Gas Station App (where supported) on your mobile, then add Apple Pay as the payment method in the app and complete the payment on mobile itself.

Let’s see the detailed steps to do this.

Way 1: How to Use Apple Pay at Gas Station [Steps]

Way 1: Using the NFC reader at the Gas Pump

  • Step 1: Line up your vehicle against the gas pump
  • Step 2: Look for the Apple Pay logo or NFC symbol (Wi-Fi symbol- usually in white font on black background) on the gas pump which means that you can pay using Apple Pay.
  • Step 3: Hold your iPhone near the NFC symbol which should open up the Apple Pay app automatically on your iPhone.
  • Step 4: Depending on the iPhone, you can verify using the Touch Id, Face id or pass code to authenticate yourself which activates the pump.
  • Step 5: Next follow the instructions on the pump screen display and proceed with filling the gas, once it gives you the message.

This works for all gas stations accepting Apple Pay.

Way 2: Using Apple Pay as the payment method in the Gas Station App

There is another method that works at certain gas stations where you can complete the payment using the gas company app. Many companies have their own apps which you can use to fill the gas and make the payment- like Exon Mobile Rewards+ App, Shell Speedway App (using Pay at the Pump), BPme: BP & Amoco Gas Rewards App.

For this, download the app for the gas company where you will fuel on your phone, complete the sign-up, add Apple Pay as a payment method in the app and then complete the payment in-app at the station, without having to use the NFC reader on the gas pump.

How to Use Apple Pay at Gas Station-2

Exxon and BP have apps that allow them to use ApplePay within the app. The Exxon app allows you to scan a QR code at the pump.

Using Apple Pay at Exxon Gas Station [App Method]

  • Step 1: Download Exon mobile app & Link your Apple Pay as payment method in it . Steps -After downloading the Exxon Mobil app, tap on “Account,” then scroll to “Payment method” option. Select “Add a new payment method” and choose “Apple Pay.”
  • Step 2: Be sure your Apple Card is set as your default card with Apple Pay in the Wallet app
  • Step 3: Allow the app to access your location when you’re using it
  • Step 4: When you’re near a gas station, select “Pay Now” in the drop down menu on the app
  • Step 5: Select the pump number you’re at and then it should authorize.

It will automatically charge your card the correct amount after you’re done filling up.

Using Apple Pay at Shell Gas Station [App Method]

Shell Pay at Pump is a mobile fuel payment feature available in Shell App. Using this, you can pay for fuel using your mobile quickly from your car without needing to use the reader at the gas pump. It is available at most Shell stations. Follow the steps below to use Apple Pay within the Shell app to make payment at a gas station:

  • Step 1: Download Shell App and add “Apple Pay” as payment method in it
  • Step 2: Once you enter the pump and line your car against the gas pump, open Shell App and confirm the pump number
  • Step 3: Select your payment mode as “Apple Pay” for your fuel quickly without queuing up in store
  • Step 4: Wait for the ‘Start Fuelling‘ message to appear.
  • Step 5: Proceed to Fill Up the fuel and the charge gets debited automatically from your selected payment method after you are done filling up

Using Apple Pay at Chevron Gas Station [Normal Method]

You can use Apple Pay by the normal method by holding your iPhone or Apple watch near the Apple Pay Logo or NFC symbol on the gas pump.
This triggers the Apple Pay app, authenticate using touch id or face id and then follow any instructions on-screen at the gas pump.

While Chevron does have its own app, it, unfortunately, does not allow Apple pay to be added as a payment method as of now.

Using Apple Pay at the BP Gas Station [App Method]

You can use Apple Pay at a BP gas station using their app.

Download the BPme Rewards gas app on your iPhone, open the gas app and & add “Apple Pay” as a payment method.

You can check-in at participating BP or Amoco gas stations on the app, once you enter the gas station, select your fuel pump from the comfort of your car.

Also, remember that some of the gas stations require you to pay with your debit card when you use Apple Pay. For example, most ARCO gas stations accept Apple Pay only when a debit card is used.

Take into account the hold charges when paying with Apple Pay (using Apple Cash or Debit Card) at Gas Station

While using Apple pay at a gas station using the scan method, you may choose to use Apple Cash as a payment method, instead of a linked credit card.

While this method works well, do note that you have sufficient balance in your Apple Cash account to cover any hold charge. This can even the case, if you choose to pay with your bank debit card or Apple Cash balance.

Hold charge is an estimated amount (usually up to $150) that gets debited to check if you have an adequate balance in your Card or Apple Pay wallet, since the amount of gas is not known beforehand.

It puts a temporary charge on for an amount that can be much higher than fuel you have filled.

This hold charge gets reversed later and only the amount payable for the fuel is actually debited.
